Today's conversation was centered around ridge vent and attic calculation. We personally know peers in the industry that have very reputable companies that believe attic ventilation is not their responsibility! They want to replace the roof and ask you to hire a company that specializes in that. We think that's absolutely crazy. This is 65,000 square feet of GAF TImberline HDZ asphalt shingles. This project was won by Pat Potter, our multifamily and commercial roofing estimator.

We recently got a call from a concerned homeowner in Parkland, WA. They had a tree hit their home and compromise their roof. The damage created a leak that was damaging the interior of their home. We are at it again transforming a home exterior in Tacoma, WA. This particular job has a worn 25 year old asphalt shingle roof that is ready to be replaced. We like the fact that the homeowners didn't wait until it was leaking to get it replaced. After getting 4 estimates from local Tacoma roofing contractors they chose us as their roofing service provider. Good news for them and us!

We are replacing the existing roof with a new eco friendly roofing system. The Malarkey Roofing shingles we are installing are made from upcycled tires and milk jugs which are diverted from landfills and added to the asphalt they use on their shingles. This is called their NEXGen asphalt. It is a "modified" or "rubberized" product that allows it to retain granules better than standard or oxidized asphalt. This extends the life of the shingle. 

In addition the Malarkey Highlander has a special granule made by 3M that pulls pollutions out of the air and cleans it, returning to the ground through rain water in a clean form. A 3,000 square foot roof is the equivalent of planting 3 trees in terms of what it does for air quality. Such a great product to help our ecosystem.
